K2 Olympic Adventure Summer Camp: June 24-28, Week 4: New Sports On The Block! Embrace the Thrill and Challenge of New Olympic Sports!
The Summer Olympics have always been a breeding ground for inspiration and dreams, a spectacle that brings together nations from across the globe in a celebration of athletic excellence. K2’s Olympic Adventure Summer Camp will touch base on a few of those sports!
**Climbing New Heights: Rock Climbing**
Rock climbing, a discipline that tests strength, endurance, agility, and balance, is set to make a grand debut on the Olympic stage and we will touch on some of the physical and mental aspects of the sport. At our Creative Project Station, we’re thrilled to channel the adventurous spirit of rock climbing into a fun and artistic activity: painting rocks! Inspired by the new Olympic sport of rock climbing, painting rocks allows campers to express their creativity while connecting with the natural world.
**Embracing the Concrete Waves: Skateboarding**
Skateboarding, a sport that has long been associated with youth culture and urban landscapes, is finally getting the recognition it deserves. K2 skateboarding activities will test our campers balance, endurance and speed as athletes race to complete a series of obstacles in the shortest time possible.
**Riding the Ocean Waves: Surfing**
Our campers will partake in activities of balance, strength, and timing, as they ride the waves to Olympic glory. What’s surfing without the ocean?? At the Science Station, we’re delving into oceanography by crafting miniature oceans in bottles!
**Breaking Out: Break Dancing**
Inspired by the addition of breakdancing as a new Olympic sport for Paris 2024, we’re bringing you a thrilling breakdancing creative project. You’ll have the chance to craft your very own pipe cleaner dancers. These whimsical creations aren’t just fun to make; they’re perfect for sparking imaginative play.
