Put on your chef hats, sharpen your engineering pencils and fasten your helmets – we’re taking you on an exciting, journey through the heart of France: the beautiful city of Paris. This week at our Olympic Adventure Summer Camp it’s Passport to Paris Week! And we’re going beyond the conventional – mixing science, culture, and gastronomy – all inspired by the upcoming Olympics in Paris.
**A Culinary Adventure in the Heart of France**
During Week 6 of Olympic Adventure Summer Camp we’re delving into the culinary world of Paris: making crepes! Campers will have the exciting opportunity to assist our teachers in preparing this delicious French delicacy while learning more about the culture and cuisine of Paris. We don’t just teach them how to make crepes – we will guide campers through the history, the culture, and the science behind this beloved dish.
**Igniting the Spirit of Engineering**
At our Science Station we will be igniting the spirit of engineering and architecture with an exciting, hands-on activity: building a miniature Eiffel Tower out of newspapers! The Eiffel Tower is a perfect example of structural engineering at its best. Our activity aims to make learning fun and engaging. As the campers work together to construct their own versions of this famous structure, they will not only learn about the principles of structural engineering but also the beauty of teamwork and collaboration.
**Pedal Power in Paris**
With the Eiffel Tower as our backdrop, campers will draw inspiration from the streets of Paris, where bicycles are a popular form of transportation, to create their one-of-a-kind bike designs. From colorful button wheels to shiny CD spokes, campers will explore different materials and techniques to bring their bike visions to life. As campers immerse themselves in crafting their unique bicycle designs, they will also learn about the importance of bicycles in Paris. They are not just a means of transportation, but also an integral part of Parisian culture. A testament to the city’s commitment to sustainable living, bicycles are a delightful sight on the cobblestone streets of Paris.
