Let’s Take A Trip

THURSDAY: STEAM Activity-M&M Rainbow Science Experiement and Building Bridges modeled after 3 famous Eurpoean bridges: Ponte Vecchio, Millau Bridge and Tower Bridge.

Let’s Take a Trip
Our campers will explore the continent of Europe this week as we kick off our summer camp! Some geography activities will be mixed in with our craft activities and we will be playing some childhood games native to Spain, France, Germany and England.

THURSDAY: Make your own Catapult and Wind Resistance: The Science Behind Wind Resistance in Track and Field

Olympic Games
Along with turning our facility into the Olympic arena for the week, we will be studying the history of the Olympics games and learning about the country of Greece.

…of Amsterdam and the Netherlands! We will be looking at this amazing country and all it’s outdoor activities to do by foot, bike and boat!

Well..let’s be honest…mostly desserts! From churros to chimney cakes and gelato to macaroons, we will be learning about and tasting some of the sweet treats that Europe has to offer.

This week our students will be buddies up with a younger or older camper this week for some partner games and leadership activities. And in our classroom time we will be continuing our travels through Europe with a stop in Spain for the week!

Nothing like a little wizardry and MAGIC in the middle of the summer! Magic is more then just spells… Our gym activities will be wizardry-themed this week and our country focus will be on the country of England.

Reduce, Reuse and Recycle
The best country in Europe at reducing waste and recycling is Estonia! We will be learning about this beautiful country and about how we can reduce, reuse and recycle at home, school and K2!

This week each age group will participate in a community service project and we will also hold Lady Bug Launch in memory of Cole Larson. We will be learning about France this week too!

The continent of Europe is home to many great architectural sites. This week will be learning about some of them and playing some fun gym time games related to Big Ben, the Leaning Tower of Pisa and Colosseum.

3-2-1 Blast Off! as we touch in Galileo and how his early works led to modern day astronomy. We will also be learning about his native country Italy.

Discover European Culture
European countries influences in America can be seen in music, fashion and food! This week will be touching on some of these as well as wrapping up our summer gym time fun with a special challenge day!

“Pay It Forward” Activities*
On Tuesdays each classroom participates in a Pay It Forward Activity. Our Leadership Group (5th-7th grade)
will visit the Parsons House, a senior living facility, for our Forever Young collaboration with the residents.
Our Olympic Village (2nd-4th grade) room will participate in the Be a Buddy Program and mentor our preschool students
in their classroom for 30 minutes. And, finally our Gold Room (1st-2nd grade) will participate in various
Citizenship activities including community service projects and character building activities.
