The Rising Stars are the youngest of the team program. They are between the ages of 3-5 years and have usually been selected from the spend 1-2 hours in the gym per week and focus on body awareness, skill repetition, strength and flexibility. Improving the fundamentals of gymnastics is very important in this group. They will compete in GYM STARS Meets.
The Shining Star range in ages of 4-7. These young competitive gymnasts have usually been selected from our Rising Stars progarm. They spend 3.5 hours in the gym per week. Perfecting the fundamentals of gymnastics is very important in this group. They will compete in GYM STARS Meets as they prepare for USAG gymnastics competitions the following year.
This group gymnasts will be competing in USAG Level 2. This is the first competitive USAG level at K2 Academy. This group of gymnasts will be in the gym 6 hours per week. The focus for this group is presentation, routine and skill development,
This group gymnasts will be competing in USAG Level 3 Achievement and Placement. This group of gymnasts will be in the gym 8 hours per week. The focus for this group is presentation, routine/ skill development, strength, flexibility, endurance and skill perfection. They will touch on goal setting and goal accomplishments. The fundamental skills should come more easily to these girls, as they progress into more difficult skills.
This group consists of those gymnasts competing in USAG Level 4 Achievement and Placement. The USAG Level 4 program consists mostly of gymnasts that have competed USAG Level 3, although there are a few exceptions. This group of gymnasts will be in the gym 12 hours per week. The focus for this group is presentation, routine and skill development, strength, flexibility, endurance and skill perfection. They will work on goal setting and goal accomplishments. These girls will begin training skill needed for the optional levels of gymnastics.
This group consists of those gymnasts competing in USAG Level 5 Achievement and Placement. The USAG Level 5 program consist of gymnasts that have competed USAG Level 4. The Level 5 gymnasts will be in the gym 16+ hours per week.The focus for this group is presentation, routine and skill development, strength, flexibility, endurance and skill perfection. The fundamental skills should come easy to these gymnasts as the progress into the higher level skills needed for the optional program.
The Optional group focuses on routine and skill development, skill perfection. The fundamental skills should come very easy to these girls, as they progress into more difficult skills. They will compete in invitationals and qualify for sate and regional competitions.
